Gabe Shepherd, Co-Owner
Former detective and S.W.A.T. Team member with an associateís degree in Criminal Justice. He was certified as the Firearms and Defensive Tactics Instructor for his department and he is experienced in all areas of criminal behavior. Gabe was trained in Executive Protection and has also logged thousands of hours as a surveillance investigator for domestic/spousal cheating and for insurance fraud.

Gabe also served in the United States Marine Corps where he received Marine of the Month selection, meritorious promotions, and numerous awards.

Barry Shepherd, Co-Owner
Retired Police Officer from the largest law enforcement agency in the Southeast, the Atlanta Police Department and Certified Bodyguard Protection Instructor. For the last 13 years of his career with APD, Barry was on the specialized Field Investigation Team (FIT) which focused on high risk street crimes such as auto theft robberies, homicides, narcotics and any other type of violent crimes that affected the public. Barry’s security background includes working hand-and-hand with the Secret Service during the1996 Olympics held in Georgia. Barry was one of the few officers awarded a commendation from the Secret Service for assisting in the safety of all athletes in the Olympic Village.

Barry attended the prominent DEA Narcotics Investigator School, becoming an expert witness in court testimony. He was deeply involved in Executive Protection after the 911 tragedy on the Twin Towers. Barry has thousands of hours of law enforcement training. In Barry’s law enforcement career, he received two Medals of Valor for bravery beyond the call of duty and eight Officer of the Month.

Barry holds a Bachelors of Science degree from LaGrange College in Sociology and also received an honorable discharge with two Meritorious promotions in the United States Marine Corp.

At only 43 years of age, Barry has dedicated the majority of his life to being a public servant and taking pride in what he does.

Gary Shepherd, Company Consultant
Gary B. Shepherd, father of Co-owners, Gabe and Barry Shepherd, serves as the Company’s Consultant. Gary is a thirty-five (35) year veteran of Law Enforcement, twenty (20) years with the City of Atlanta Police Department, starting as a Patrolman and retiring as a Captain on the force. Gary is the originator of the Atlanta SWAT Team – 1972. Gary retired from Atlanta PD to become the Chief of Police in LaGrange, Georgia from 1978 to 1991 at which time he became the Public Safety Director for both Police and the LaGrange Fire Department until he retired in 1993.

Gary’s formal training and education includes: Graduate of Southern Police Institute, University of Louisville 1970 (Class President 44th Session); Graduate of F.B.I. National Academy, Quantico, VA, 1973. Gary holds a BA in Criminal Justice, LaGrange College, and MS in Public Administration, Columbus State University.

Gary held offices/honors which include: President of Georgia Police Chief Association, 1992, President of Peace Officer Standards and Training, 1992, thirteen (13) year member of Georgia POST Council. Georgia Police Chief of the Year 1989.

Sara Shepherd, Director of Operations
With over 15 years experience Sara brings to Shepherd Security Services a wealth of knowledge and insight into the property management industry. She has managed many types of properties including Multi-Family, up to 800 units and commercial sites, including retail, medical/office and industrial, totaling over 800,000 Square Feet of space. Sara is licensed as a real estate agent in the state of Georgia.

With this extensive background in Property Management, Sara is the link that brings our company set together. Her problem solving and management skills, along with her Customer service Background make her essential to our Companies success.

Josh Albillar, Sales - Operations
Josh is a native of Albuquerque, New Mexico and has been living in Phoenix since 2001. Josh’s law enforcement and investigative training background includes interview and interrogation techniques, offensive tactical driving, surveillance, and extensive weapons training with the Albuquerque Police Department. He currently holds a Private Investigator License with the Arizona Department of Public Safety. He is also a licensed Financial Advisor, with Series 7, 66, and Variable Life and Health certifications. Josh has provided management, supervision and oversight of the daily operations of companies in a variety of fields, including home and commercial security services, Property Management, and financial and loan management services. He was recognized as one of the premier instructors in self-defense training in the State of New Mexico, and his hobbies include on and off-range firearms practicing, gun collecting, scuba diving, sky diving, camping and hiking. His experience and expertise, as well as negotiation and problem-solving skills, provide an invaluable asset to Shepherd Security services and its clients.

Josh is responsible for the daily operations of Shepherd Security Services. He has three missions. First, he strives to ensure that the company remains on the cutting edge of new developments in the security and protection industry. Second, he regularly reviews every Clientís security program to ensure it is staffed with the most qualified, dedicated, and trained staff, equipped with the latest knowledge and most importantly, meets/exceeds industry standards. Finally, he maintains the efficient, organized, and accessible head-office operation.
